Fire Extinguishers should be placed anywhere there is a possibility of fire. This includes buildings, transportation, and events.
By law, fire extinguishers are required for:

Although not required by law, fire extinguishers are strongly recommended for:

In addition to knowing where to place fire extinguishers (buildings, transportation and events) it is also important to know how they should be placed within these spaces. Placement within is determined by the area of the space and the Travel Distance Rule. The Travel Distance Rule states that a fire extinguisher must be available within a 22.9m (75ft) radius. For example, in a larger spaces like warehouses or hall, you will often see fire exinguishers fastened to a support column. This ensures compliance with the Travel Distance Rule and places the extinguishers in a central location.
